Today we drove over to Blue Springs State Park. It's possible to kayak up to the springs, then back. But, we decided to go and swim in the springs. Again, the water is a constant temperature of about 72degrees. It was a hot day so it felt pretty cold getting in. There is a camp store here and picnic-like grounds. From here, you can walk up a ramp to the start of the springs. We floated down the springs and were sorry that we had forgot to pack goggles. It may have been a good thing as there were many things swimming in the water! We saw 3 guys that kept catching and holding up alligator gar. Yikes - gar in the water with us! Oh well, the gar probably didn't like swimming with us either. You'll understand when you see the many goofy photos!

Not a native animal to the springs, but instead a transplant to the waters. |
