Kayak 5/31- Cross Creek - New Paddler

Cross Creek                                                            2.9 miles
GORGEOUS Day, 75degrees, no humidity, blue skies/white clouds
2.0 mph avg speed, 1:26 moving time
Me, Scotty, Luke, Jenny

Today we went to Cross Creek so that Jenny could try out kayaking.  Luke has been out with us a few times and has purchased his own kayak - so now we're going to see if Jenny likes it.  We couldn't have picked a better day to introduce somebody to kayaking.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  In fact, I never thought of Cross Creek as a beautiful location, but today it was definitely beautiful.  We got her into the Wilderness Pungo 12 foot, showed her a few tips and sent her out.  She was soon smiling and said that she liked it.  The four of us paddled out in the direction of the Cumberland River, but never went out into the river.  I decided to paddle along the shore and into the trees that were partially submerged.  It was a very cool environment.  We finished our 'tour' of the inlet and paddled back towards shore.  The final verdict - Jenny enjoyed herself and would attempt another paddle.

Walk 5/25- Pandemic Mornings

Pandemic Mornings

The pandemic walks every morning continue.  I'm posting these photos on Monday, May 25, Memorial Day.  It's another holiday that is 'not normal' for our family and families across the U.S.  Thank God we can remember all of those that gave their lives, and for the fact that I live in this country - faults and all.
