Hiking -Tomoka State Park

We awoke to a chilly morning, 42 degrees when we got up. We each had breakfast and straightened up the trailer. That took about 10 minutes! Silver Spring State Park has several trails so we took a 56 minute walk on the Swamp Trail. It was a nice, easy walk through the trees and near the end is a boardwalk over a swampy section. There’s a platform at the end that overlooks the Silver River. After our walk, we had an early lunch and hooked up the trailer to the truck. It seemed very easy and quick. Even the dump station went very smooth for us. Although, I couldn’t stop thinking of Robin Williams in the RV movie(not a pretty picture).

On the way over to Ornond Beach, we noticed lots and lots of motorcycles. Sure enough, we’re here during Daytona Beach Bike Werk! It’s kind of surprising that we hot a reservation as we saw several cyclists in the park. We are in Site 2 at Tomoka State Park. The lane around the camping loop is narrow and the turn into our site was tight, but Scotty managed it with no problem. We got over to the beach about 3:00 and walked along the beach. There were very, very few people on the beach. I guess the cyclists aren’t interested and it was in the 60s. On the way back, we stopped at the Tomoka Outpost where the boat launch is located. Now we wait on the weather, as tomorrow is predicted to be rainy and cold. Also today we called about the frog as it’s still not cold. We found out that a Winnebago service man will come to us under our warranty.
