We dropped the bike off at Highway 388 bridge and drove up to Highway 20, opposite of Sylvan & Pitt Springs. Theres a nice launch here with large steps down into the creek. We paddled up a very short distance to see the Springs, but weren’t able to get close while in our kayaks. There was a dock here and we could’ve put our boats, but it didn’t look like it would be an easy access onto land. Also there were pilings that blocked kayaks from going into the springs. That’s OK because we have seen other Springs on this trip so we turned around and started our journey. The water was absolutely beautiful, so clear and we could see lots of fish around us. We also noticed lots of dead trees along the shore. We didn’t have to paddle far to Gainer Springs and Emerald Springs. After about 3 miles we stopped for lunch only because we saw a small sandbar and we weren’t sure when would see another. It was only 11 o’clock but lunch is always good on the River even if it’s early. Sure enough around the bend was a much bigger sandbar. River problems sigh. The weather was in the 80s, the skies were blue and the river flowed very well. We made really good time on this river which was pleasant as it was our last paddle for this trip. Benji and I said under the bridge in the shade waiting for Scotty and this time it was a short wait. It was nice to get back to the trailer early and clean up.
