Hiking - Tre Cim

 

We had an excellent breakfast At our hotel. My favorite was a tiny little donut filled with apricot and dusted with confectioners sugar – I wish I knew what it was.We drove the winding road up to Tre Cim. The car was reading -2°C. The views of the dolomites are spectacular. What can I say about our hike? We walked and walked and walked some more. I’ll trails rated this hike as easy/moderate. There were some easy parts where the trail went straight across but the moderate parts were definitely a work out whether you were going up or down because the Paths were filled with gravel and loose rocks. There were many many people on this hike, what brings them there are the absolutely breathtaking views. We saw older people, younger couples with their babies, lots of dogs, heard different nationalities. Rather than describe them, look at the photos.  But the best view of the day was when we  turned a corner and saw the parking lot. we drove to our hotel, La Villa Martha Hotel.  It has that charming to roll and look outside in our room inside is ornate, tasteful and very comfortable. The husband and wife who run the hotel are very sweet, the wife said she didn’t speak much English but she helped us a lot in figuring out a hike for tomorrow. And when we came back from our dinner (me pizza, Scotty carbonara), the young lady gave Scotty some chocolate when he went down to buy a beer. A highlight of the room was the bathtub and I was able to soak my sore feet. Hopefully they feel better tomorrow.
