Richie was home for a few days and the weather was so nice that he agreed to go kayaking with me! The water was really high as we've had rain and the night before there was a really big rainstorm. It was so high that when we put the kayaks in at the bottom of the stairs, we tied the kayaks up in case one went floating away. We got into the kayaks no problem. As I had Endomondo on, we got our lap speed and it was fun to hear. The first mile was done in 16 minutes, then we went down to 15 minutes and I believe that one lap was only 13 minutes. Today we were able to kayak up to the waterfall with no problem. Today was probably the closest we could get to the waterfall, but the current was so strong, it was pretty hard for Richie to get really close. Because we didn't want to get out and get our feet, we ate our sandwich while simply floating. We passed very few people on the river. A great day for me, especially since it was with Richie.
A place where I can yak about my yakking! Now that we're both retired, we're hoping to travel more so this blog will include land based trips also!
