We have finally had a break in the weather and the sun was supposed to pop out today so we popped over to reception and bought two gondola tickets up to Oeschinensee. The gondola ride was maybe 10 minutes and once they’re there’s about a 30 minute walk over to the lake. The lake was low and so I was prepared for another blue lake that wasn’t blue. Until we started hiking up over the lake and Scotty said it blew us away. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
When we returned to the lodge, we had a meal in the dining hall. We had salad, spaghetti with cheese, broccoli and vanilla mousse. A dinner at condor stag lodge cost Fr.13 or about $13. The best thing about the meal was sitting with some work crew members who filled us in on a lot of Kandersteg life. What was impressive was the number of times the people had returned here, anywhere from seven times up to 13 times.
