Today was predicted to be one of the colder days so we took our time getting ready. After we finally packed up, we drove to Coors landing and left Scotty‘s bike Then headed over to Ray Wayside Park to launch are boats. The park was very busy but fortunately we were not going the normal path. We feared left and just let out to the Ocklawaha ha river. Then she started the trip with me and he did really well in the beginning. About the 4 mile mark, he really started to whine. Removed him from my boat to Scotty’s boat, but this didn’t help. It was disappointing since he was so good for the first 4 miles. We pulled over and he did go pee And ate a little bit. After two weeks of kayaking, he better become acclimated. The river itself was of course as beautiful as ever. It really does look like a silver River sometime with the clear aqua water and the reflections. We saw several alligators selling themselves, lots of white birds in the trees, and we even saw several monkeys, but no manatees this trip. Benji did enjoy watching the wildlife. We eat her lunch on the river and finished in four hours back at the trailer we made a delicious dinner of pork chops, baked potatoes and salad. It was a great day to start our trip.
