Train Ride to Porto

Hotel we walked down to the Santa Apollonia metro and then took the metro to the train station. Tickets from Lisbon to Duoro or €27 in second class which was fine. We were able to see countryside as we traveled. We did notice many orchards, and we think they may have been olive trees.  We then took an Uber to the hotel. I did find out yesterday why we saw people striking on the streets. They were Uber drivers and apparently even if they work any many hours in a week they still don’t make enough to survive so I was happy to take an Uber to Tip more than usual. we got to our Holiday Inn express and again again it’s a small room but perfect for the two of us and has two comfortable twin beds. We quickly canceled our Duoro Valley tour on Monday due to rain and scheduled another one for Tuesday, which was predicted to be sunnier. We had made sandwiches from breakfast, and about 4 o’clock in our hotel room. We finally ate them. We walked around the city and found it to be more charming than Lisbon. The streets don’t seem quite as steep. It seems cleaner, and they’re just seems to be more personality here, we were able to walk into the Church of Santa Ildefonso. This church has a beautiful blue and white tile FaceAnd sits on top of the hill, overlooking a square. The insInnate and beautiful. It’s actually quite a touching tradition to have people.Waiting for nature. There is a one-man band playing some great songs but unfortunately he had a horrible voice. When the sunset we could hear some clapping and slowly very slowly, the crowd started to disperse. We also began the journey back to our hotel.
