Touring - Grozjnan, Croatia

Grozjnan is a hilltop village known as the village of artists. In the 2021 census there were 142 inhabitants, mostly quotes and Italians and a few Slovenes. The first mention of Grozjnan dates back to 1102 And at one point in history, Venice Took over the city (1358), then the Austrian empire. After World War II, there was a large emigration to Italy. The town of Arts was given status in 1965 and housing was provided to artists. Walking around the town today was an artistic delight. There were many artist shops in each shop was truly unique. We didn’t see any repeat of art as the art was all locally made. The art varied from glasswork to paintings to woodwork to silk Work and ceramics and more.
