Touring - Lake Bohinj

We arrived at our home for the next three days, a quaint little apartment in Lake Bohinj. This area feels much less touristy than Lake Bled, and from what I understand, many of the apartments here are rented out through the municipality. It almost seems like the city is intentionally building up its presence among visitors, but it still feels quiet and authentic compared to the busier spots. We hiked 2 miles into town to pay the rest of our deposit and to also get a Julian Alps pass.

On a lighter note, today we reached a milestone—100 miles of hiking on this trip! Woo hoo! I guess we can go home now. Ha ha.

But today also carried heavy news. I learned yesterday that my brother David passed away, likely from a heart attack. I am completely heartbroken. He had really been getting his life together and had just undergone shoulder replacement surgery. I will miss our chats so much. Today I found myself crying off and on. Since the celebration of life won’t be held until later, we will continue our journey, and I will carry him in prayer to God as we travel through the beautiful nature surrounding us.
