Thacher Island - Departure

We left that’s your island about 8 o’clock. It was a smooth landing and a smooth departure with Captain Dave at the helm. It is always bittersweet to leave the island but we always leave with such great memories in the expectation of coming again next year. Once we got assure we realise we really didn’t need or want to walk around Rockport as we have seen it so many other years. We remembered Portside diner in Danvers so we decided to head there for breakfast. Like last time it was an excellent breakfast. Scotty had chicken and waffles and I had blueberry pancakes with sausages. The pancakes were huge and the blueberries were fresh and plump. They were delicious. I couldn’t even eat it all from there. We drove to Methuen and picked up our trailer. We had no problems with the trailer and this was a new app. We were trying called Neighbor where you park your trailer in someone’s yard. The communication was very good and it is an insured company. It’s like Airbnb except for vehicles. We got on the road and Scotty just reminded me that I promptly fell asleep. No wonder, we had worked hard on Thacher Island.

We only had to drive about two hours to our campsite, West Thompson Lake in Connecticut. It’s a small campground, but the sites were very nice. We were in site nine and surrounded by trees. We both agreed to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the day And even though we don’t drink during the day we both had a beer mid afternoon sat in our zero gravity chairs and played cards outside.
